To help you understand costs we have prepared an outline of the categories that make up the expenses of a funeral. There are basically four sections that make up a funeral account: professional service charges, casket & merchandise selections, cash disbursements and taxes on applicable items.
Professional Services
Traditions surrounding the funeral have shown this to be an important time for the family, friends and community. The recognition and celebration of a life lived is invaluable in the grieving process, not just for family but also for friends and associates as well.
Bernardo Funeral Home offers a range of professional services to serve our families. From simple dignified services to extravagant funerals our level of expertise, knowledge and professionalism is exemplary.
Casket & Merchandise Selections
This section is specific to the casket and other merchandise that a family selects. All of our caskets, services and merchandise is priced separately - meaning the price you see for the casket is for the casket itself with no other items included. Some of the other types of merchandise you might find in these sections of the funeral account are: burial vaults, cremation urns, and flowers.
Cash Disbursements
Cash disbursements are just as they imply: to aid the families we serve, we will cover third party expenses, at the exact cost, and place them on our account as a convenience.
Typical cash disbursements might include:
• Newspaper Notices
• Clergy Honorariums
• Cemetery Charges
• Coroner's Cremation Certificates
• Reception Catering
Please contact one of our Funeral Director's to provide you with a quote of our service prices.
Applicable Taxes
Currently, in the Province of Ontario HST (13%) Tax is applied to the Professional Services, Casket & Merchandise, and some Cash Disbursements.
